Scoil Phádraig is a primary school in Portarlington, catering for over 580 boys. Our pupils come from both sides of the River Barrow, and further afield, with many of our pupils coming from different parts of the world. Here in Scoil Phádraig we encourage the integration of all nationalities and cultures.
Throughout the school, we promote positive behaviour within classrooms and also encourage children to partake in all the extra-curricular activities on offer. Teachers run several after-school activities including Football, Soccer, Badminton, Hurling, and Golf. We also have a fantastic School Band.
We take part in the FAI schools soccer and Cumman na mBunscol competitions each year. We have experienced success in both in recent times. Our Tag Rugby team have also been crowned All Ireland Champions on 3 occasions.
Since receiving our first ever Green Flag, for recycling, in 2010, we have been awarded three more; for energy, for water, and for transport. We are now working towards our 5th Green Flag.
Since 2012 we have taken part in both the regional and national Fís Film Festivals. Our young filmmakers have had great fun and achieved great acclaim for their efforts.
Our eager children have a real thirst for learning and our excellent staff team is committed and dedicated to ensuring that each and every child achieves. We have high standards and expect the best.
